Bundesliga 2025/26 – Final Matchday

On Saturday, 16 May 2026, the 2025/26 Bundesliga season came to a dramatic and emotional end as Bayern Munich were officially crowned champions for the 35th time in their illustrious history.

In their final league match of the season at the Allianz Arena, Bayern Munich delivered a dominant performance, defeating FC Köln 5-1 in front of a capacity crowd of over 75,000 fans who had come to celebrate their team’s latest triumph.

Match Summary

Bayern took control early and never looked back. The goals came as follows:

  • Harry Kane opened the scoring from the penalty spot.

  • Jamal Musiala and Leroy Sané added two more before half-time.

  • In the second half, Kingsley Coman and Thomas Müller completed the rout with two beautiful goals.

The match itself was more of a celebration than a contest. With the title already secured weeks earlier, Bayern used the game to give minutes to squad players and put on a show for their loyal supporters.

Grand Championship Ceremony

After the final whistle, the Allianz Arena transformed into a sea of red and white. A massive stage was erected in the centre of the pitch as red flares lit up the stands and the famous “Stern des Südens” anthem echoed throughout the stadium.

The highlight of the evening was the official presentation of the Meisterschale (the Bundesliga championship trophy). Club captain Manuel Neuer led the team, followed by star striker and captain Harry Kane, who was given the honour of lifting the silver plate high into the Munich sky. The moment triggered a huge roar from the crowd and an impressive fireworks display.

The players then paraded the trophy around the pitch, dancing, singing, and celebrating with the ultras in the Südkurve. Emotional scenes followed as players hugged their families and long-serving staff members on the pitch. Special tributes were paid to retiring players and those who had contributed significantly to this successful campaign.

Later in the evening, the team took part in an open-top bus parade through the streets of Munich, ending at Marienplatz where thousands of fans had gathered for a massive public celebration.

Historic Dominance

This title marks Bayern’s 13th Bundesliga win in the last 14 seasons — a staggering level of dominance in German football. Under manager Vincent Kompany, Bayern bounced back strongly and finished the season with a record goal difference and a comfortable 16-point lead over second-placed Borussia Dortmund.

The 2025/26 season will be remembered as another chapter in Bayern’s continued supremacy in the Bundesliga.
